Miami is a very popular location in Florida, and it's not hard to see why. Southern Florida, where Miami is located, has a very fortunate climate. While the middle and northern parts of Florida can get a bit more cold in winter, southern Florida truly has summer all year round. There is lots to see and do in Miami. Dreamy Miami Beach, with its white sand and turquoise water, does not only offer swimming and sunbathing, but also surfing, scuba diving and boat rides. Apart from Miami Beach, there's a lot more to do, both in Miami and surrounding areas. In Miami you'll find several interesting museums, beautiful parks and a few zoos. There's also a ton of great restaurant in the Miami area. With so much to do, if you rent a house in Miami, you won't be disappointed.

Rent house in Fort Lauderdale

One hour north of Miami is Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale is much smaller than Miami, but not so small there's nothing to do. Like Miami, you'll find several museums and parks, and the beaches are just as beautiful. Our vacation home, Casa Starfish, is located in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, just north of Fort Lauderdale. These areas are much more calm than Miami, and hence more suitable for families with children. Casa Starfish is located in the gated community Terra Mar. It's a modern home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a large heated pool with a pool lounge. The villa has a great location, with walking distance to the beach, a 2 min drive from a big mall and a 5 minute drive from the city centre. Nearby you'll find lots of great bars and restaurants.

Get around in Miami

The villa is a 30 minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale airport. To get the most out of you vacation in Florida, we recommend you renting a car. With so much to see and do in the surrounding areas, having a car really increases the quality of your holiday. Visit Miami for the day, or simply drive along the coastline for a sunny road trip.
